We Got It.......

The Providence Bay and Spring Bay Lion's Club received a national award on August 22nd, 2011.

The community in our Lions Club district has supported our events. Now we have enough "seed" money to obtain donations and grants to permit a substantial renovation of the beach playground and related facilities.

We do require further donations to make this a real success story.

These are our current " Sponsors"

Project Description\ Purpose:

The Providence Bay Beach Playground Project is a volunteer driven initiative that has a vision to restore the beach area to its once pristine appearance and to rebuild the playground to one that children and people of all ages can come and enjoy. This project will bring people together for a common goal, which in turn will result in community pride, sense of achievement and ownership.

Project Goals \ Desired Outcomes:

· Develop our beach, so that children and people of all ages and abilities can gather to enjoy the beach as a social hub.

· Provide a safe, healthy and accessible recreational environment for people of all ages and abilities.

· The beach area, existing boardwalk and the Interpretive Center are integral pieces of the community and, will be enhanced by an integrated playground and adult fitness facility.

· Stimulate linkages with local groups and organizations, to provide examples of successful partnerships.

· Facilitate the development of civic responsibility in the local area, and provide a positive impact on the community.

· Improve our children’s lives and show them that the people in our community care about their well-being.
